To ensure seamless backend workflows, we embarked on a design project focused on optimizing the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) of this internal tool. This case study dives into the research, design solutions, and the resulting impact on backend operator efficiency.

Exponential was struggling to provide a user-friendly experience for its admin software. The overwhelming amount of data, complex navigation, outdated visual design, and misaligned branding made it difficult for users to efficiently navigate and utilize the software's features. These challenges hindered the software's adoption and growth, necessitating a comprehensive redesign to improve the overall user experience.

Our design process commenced with a comprehensive competitive analysis to gain a deep understanding of the domain and identify industry benchmarks. Subsequently, a rigorous heuristic evaluation using Nielsen's principles was conducted to uncover usability issues and pinpoint areas for improvement within the web application. To streamline user flow and enhance task completion efficiency, we developed a robust information architecture.
Concurrently, we initiated the rebranding process, exploring new color palettes and logo concepts. The design process culminated in the creation of low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes, supported by a comprehensive design system to ensure consistency and scalability.
